(This is part 4 in a series about the upcoming v2.0 update of Finally Fit. You can catch up on Email 1, Email 2, and Email 3 here).
Fun fact:
I started Finally Fit with zero programming experience.
Before that, the only tech I knew how to use were the Google Sheets I created for my coaching clients.
But here's the thing:
My vision has always been to build an app that felt like having a coach in your pocket. Something to help you take back control of your fitness without buying generic PDFs or hiring a "coach" who hardly knows you exist.
The problem was, my skills hadn't caught up to that vision yet.
I decided to release version 1.0 with just the Program Builder and workout tracker because adding anything else was too complex.
But honestly… The gap between what it is and the version I had in my head always bothered the CRAP out of me.
The UI could've been cleaner, and the overall structure behind the scenes made it way harder to build basic feature requests like:
❌ A preview screen before you start your workout
❌ Navigating to other screens during a workout without losing your session
❌ Little quality-of-life tweaks to make the app feel better to use
Now, I could've kept hacking around that setup and duct-taping additional features on top.
But since I'm charging real money for this, "it works most of the time" was NOT going to be good enough.
So for v2.0, I did the harder thing:
I rebuilt the entire workout experience on a cleaner, more solid foundation.
The new workout screen has been redesigned to cut down on friction — fewer taps, clearer layout, and smoother navigation if you need to jump to other parts of the app mid-session.
Have a look:
When you run a workout now, it feels smoother and more intuitive. You won’t need to figure out how to do what you need to do — every button and element just feels like it’s where it needs to be.
I'm most proud about the Progression Engine upgrades.
It's much more visible now and does a better job of recommending what to aim for each session.
And honestly, this is just the visible part of the rebuild.
The major improvement is how the app is now built on a MUCH more solid structure, so everything just feels more... stable.
That means:
- Your data's safer — workouts, food logs, and progress are less likely to randomly disappear or fail to save
- The app feels snappier to use, especially when you're moving between screens
- Future updates (new features and improvements) will be much easier to build and ship
In my opinion, these upgrades make Finally Fit feel like a complete system.
It’s still a work-in-progress (and it’ll probably be that way forever) but it’s the closest it’s ever been to the app I’ve wanted to build since day one.
I’m really excited for you to give it a shot and see for yourself how much easier Finally Fit makes it to show up, stick to the plan, and make visible progress with your fitness.
Now I'm gonna give your inbox a break over the weekend.
And then next week, I'll tell you when 2.0 is going live, how to get it, and what I got planned for early birds who want to commit to a fitter, healthier 2026.
Talk to you then.
